Why you need an extractor fan in your bathroom
The whole room should have an exhaust fan on it, preferably one of those big ones with a cover on top so you can’t see all the unwanted stuff floating around up there. The problem is that most people don’t know this simple fact, and they end up getting sick because of it. That would never happen if they had an exhaust fan in their bathroom! If you want to stay healthy, get yourself one of these bad boys ASAP.
What happens in your bathroom when you don’t have an exhaust fan? Well, here are eight things that most likely will.
Mold and mildew will begin to grow up on the walls.
If you want proof that this is true, just take a good look at any public restroom or locker room that doesn’t have an exhaust fan. There are probably black spots all over the place. That’s mildew for you! With no vent in your bathroom, it won’t be long before there is mildew and mold growing all over the tiles, sink, and toilet seat. Uck! Why would anyone want to breathe in that nasty stuff and get sick?!
The toilet water will get murky.
Toilet water should be clear and sparkly, not cloudy and dirty looking. When you flush the toilet without an exhaust fan to suck up all the air in there, a bunch of bacteria ends up going down the drain too. It’s no wonder why your toilet starts to look yucky! If there were a little exhaust fan in there, this wouldn’t happen at all.
Your mirror will start to fog up.
The moisture from your shower makes the mirror foggier than ever when you don’t have an exhaust fan because it doesn’t get dried out right away. This is just nasty because you can only stare at that gross foggy mess and not see what you’re doing when you’re getting ready in the morning. Who has time for that?
The bathroom will start to smell bad.
The lack of ventilation in your bathroom will cause the stink to build up, and it will be harder than ever to get rid of it. You might think that spraying some air freshener is going to do the trick, but all you’re doing is making it worse. It’s best to just avoid the room altogether until the smell goes away, which could take a while.
Your skin will start to dry out
Since there is no air circulating in the bathroom when you don’t have an exhaust fan, your skin will dry out from being in there. When your skin is all dried up, it’s going to crack and leave you open for infection. It also just looks really unattractive when your skin peels off after a shower!
You will have to do laundry more often.
You can only wash the towels so many times before they start to smell, right? The same thing goes for your clothes. If you have an exhaust fan in the bathroom, your clothes won’t stink as much, or at least not as quickly, because they get dried out with fresh air instead of staying damp forever with no ventilation.
Your hair will start smelling too.
If you don’t already know this about yourself, let us tell you that the lack of ventilation in your bathroom will make your hair start smelling too. You can’t just spray a little perfume on it to mask the odor either because your body heat and sweat from being in there will make it all worse.
People won’t want to use your bathroom.
It doesn’t matter if it’s Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas morning, or any other time of the year. If they have to use your bathroom and know that you don’t have an exhaust fan, then people aren’t into using it as much as you hoped they would. Good luck with trying to get them back next year!
Those are eight things that happen when you don’t have an exhaust fan in your bathroom. So do yourself and everyone else a favor and get one of these fans as soon as possible- it will make your life so much easier!
